Events & Activities! ~
Chingay Parade
The term Chingay itself originated in Southeast Asia, particularly in Penang, which is a phonetic equivalent of the Chinese words "妆艺", which means "a decorated miniature stage" or float.
These floats represent each race in Singapore and integrate contingents from foreign countries. Tourists would be amazed as every float is unique in its own way and no float looks the same. It has also become a very unique multiracial performance.
The 2011 Chingay Parade will be held on 11 and 12 February. It will open with a Fire Party, and will include the largest moving multi-ethnic performances, first travelling dance competition within the parade, a spectacular finale where thousands of performers will flood the parade ground holding candle lights and an inaugural colourful Arts District/ Carnival.
Feel like joining in and having a slice of fun? Don't worry as it also includes activities in which the public can participate, such as the Teresa Teng Look-Alike Photo Contest and the Chingay Paparazzi competition.
So what are you waiting for? Join us and be part of the festivities!

It is a wonderful experience for me. In normal cinemas, the highest that we experienced is 3D effects. Initially, I had no idea what 4D is all about. I joked about the characters in the movie walking out from the screen. But it is actually the real feeling of getting bitten by the crabs in the movie, getting splashed with water facing the waves, the swaying motion of the pirate ships and etc. It was so painful getting bitten by crabs that I put my legs up on the seats. I had a great time that day! And I definitely believe that tourists would enjoy it as much as I did.
